A Buyer Planner is required to join a highly innovative medical devices business. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced buyer to join an organisation that change the quality of life for patients across the world.

The Role

The focus of the role is to manage the purchasing and scheduling of all packaging for use in production to support customer orders, along with scheduling of production tasks to support customer orders. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Tasks are complex in nature where judgment is required to complete recurring assignments independently and to determine the best methods to follow to complete assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tactical and operational purchasing responsibilities for assigned portfolio to maintain a high level of customer service
  • Manages and/or maintains material inventories levels according to inventory targets and drive improvement opportunities.
  • Takes appropriate action in resolving discrepancies in order quantity, price and seeks corrective action on late deliveries.
  • Review manufacturing production goals and plans accordingly. Analyze inputs (e.g., capacity, urgency of request, material availability, etc.) to help determine schedule
  • Prepare shipment documentation, and manage the dispatch of product to customers daily.
  • Analyze internal impact (e.g., line scheduling, procurement, logistics, shipping, etc.) of customer scheduling. Revise plans as required based on analysis of actual versus plan
  • Review capacity loads and identifies possible manufacturing constraints. Monitors and anticipates production issues due to capacity, and new product launches.
  • Establish effective communication with various groups such as suppliers and/or plant production department as required.

The Person

  • Preferably, Degree Qualified with specific or additional qualifications in the area of supply chain management e.g. APICS/IIPMM certification.
  • 3-5 years’ experience of Procurement, Supplier management, and inventory management within a Healthcare or Electronics background.
  • Strong understanding of MRP functionality (Item Master, BOM, Inventory Management, Safety Stock).
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Works with a sense of urgency and attention to detail at all times.
  • Good knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, & Word
