Maintenance Leader

Our client a medical device multinational currently seeksa Maintanace Leader to join their team. The Maintenance Leader will be a member of the engineering group that provides maintenance support within a high volume, fully-automated manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Leader is responsible for managing Shift Engineering resources in troubleshooting, maintenance and continuous improvement of the production process and equipment.


• Lead the Shift Maintenance group, manage the Engineering Stores, Corrective and Preventive Maintenance System
• Develop team capacity through structured training, cross-skilling and problem-solving techniques
• Manage Maintenance Safety and Compliance and continuously drive improvements
• Work closely with the Engineering and Operations functions in managing equipment uptime and performance
• Identify areas of opportunities in existing equipment and detail possible improvements
• Guide the work of the Maintenance Planner. Periodically review and manage spares stock levels
• Provide assistance in the preparation of budgets and manage MRO spend
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives as appropriate – Lean, LDMS, Blitz’s.
• Track performance of the Maintenance function using appropriate metrics e.g. MTTF, MTTR, scheduled maintenance hours
• Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering
• Six Sigma Green Belt minimum
• Preference to further Management qualifications, e.g. MBA
• At least 5 years process engineering experience in medical device, pharmaceuticals or high volume manufacturing environment
• Minimum 2 years supervisory/ management experience
• Experience in applying a scientific approach to problem solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields.
• Leadership and communication abilities
• Experience in a regulated environment and compliance in an FDA environment
• Knowledge of PLC’s, Vision Systems, High Speed Assembly and Packaging
• Experience with CMMS
