Plant Microbiologist
Our client, a global biopharmaceutical organisation are currently recruiting for a Plant Microbiologist to join their team in Cork. The Plant Microbiologist role is an operations based role and the successful candidate will have responsibility for technical support of the operations department.

Responsibilities
• Leading contamination control initiatives within the operations department and managing activities in compliance with corporate, cGMP, EHS, and other regulatory requirements
• Practicing proactive environmental monitoring oversight
• Leading investigations and risk assessments
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and open communication
• Review and definition of specific techniques for critical process steps
• Design and delivery of training, to ensure a high standard of aseptic awareness and compliance, on the manufacturing floor
• Support Commissioning, Qualification, Validation, PDMS and Technical Operations activities related to Operations
• The role should provide technical assistance to ensure business, quality and compliance goals are met

Requirements
• BSc in a scientific/technical discipline required
• Experience as a plant/process microbiologist within a Life Sciences or Biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Minimum of 5 years of experience within a pharmaceutical or GMP regulated Operations environment
• Possesses detailed knowledge of routine and non-routine testing and sampling methods, techniques and related equipment
• Possess a detailed knowledge and experience of the shop floor manufacturing process
• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of trending using statistical analysis
• Knowledgeable of FDA/EMEA regulatory requirements applicable to biologics and/or pharmaceuticals
• Business Excellence and Problem Solving skills Qualifications e.g. Six Sigma, Lean Green/Black Belt
• Experienced in training
