The Role

A leading international organisation is currently seeking an IndirectProcurement expert to join their team in Kildare to manage indirect materials and services. This Regional Category Manager role will give you the opportunity to develop the Regional Category Strategy and Lead Negotiations. Acting as the key purchasing interface you will manage external relationships with relevant key regional suppliers in addition to communicating regularly and working closely with all key internal stakeholders. At the same time, you are responsible for the implementation of Global Category strategies and contracts within your region and will be a member of the Global Category Council for relevant categories.


  • Implementation of Global Contracts in assigned categories within the Region and a key member of the relevant Global Category Council.
  • Regional Strategy Development for assigned categories.
  • Negotiate and agree contracts on a Regional Basis.
  • Identify and document cost saving opportunities and ensure implementation takes place on a timely basis.
  • Ensure Supplier Service Level Reviews are conducted on a regular basis (at least two times annually). These should be recorded and documented and any corrective actions rectified.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organisational, analytical, problem solving and administrative skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional regional teams and to integrate and work effectively with others in an ever-changing environment.
  • Able to lead and create a positive creative atmosphere in regional negotiations using various negotiation techniques.
  • A strong desire for continuous learning and a desire to grow professionally

What you need

  • At least 5 years of a successful track record working within a Multi-National organisation in Procurement
  • Bachelor’s Degree (, Business or Engineering Degree (PF) required
  • CPM or CIPS desirable
