Research Scientist PhD
Life Science Recruitment has been exclusively engaged to source a total of 3 Research Scientists, PhD Level for our client who are based in Limerick. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in molecular science with the ability and confidence to undertake all associated responsibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities
The R&D Scientist will be responsible for and have the ability to demonstrate skills in;
• Design and optimisation of molecular diagnostics assays for the clinical laboratory.
• Undertaking the Research and development of molecular diagnostics assays
• Performance of analytical studies required for molecular diagnostics assays up to point of commercialization e.g. specificity testing, LOD etc.
• Troubleshooting of technical issues relating to existing assays.
• Regular QC testing of assay components produced in-house.
• Implement and maintain quality standards as required (ISO, FDA etc)
• Maintenance of research records and laboratory notebooks.
• The post holder is required to perform any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the manager / supervisor
Skills & Experience
• Minimum PhD level education.
• Molecular diagnostic assay design experience.
• Experience in optimisation of real time PCR assays.
• Nucleic Acid extraction techniques.
• Microbiological culture experience.
• Experience in handling and amplification of RNA.
