Senior Development Engineer

Our client a medical device multinational currently seeks a Senior Development Engineer to join their team. The role is responsible for the Co-ordination of the site process development function. Reporting to Engineering Manager successful candidate will be responsible for introduction of new products on site and will be responsible for managing a team of 5


Develop, design, and evaluate processes and/or equipment requiring novel and innovative approaches or major breakthrough in technology.
Lead site engineering and liaise with Corporate R&D in the development of new product introduction projects and ensure that project timelines are met.
Ensure any Intellectual Property aspects of development are identified and protected in conjunction with the Corporate Legal group.
Develop advanced manufacturing processes using six sigma and lean guidelines to lower product standard cost
Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality of processes and support project justifications.
Investigate and evaluate existing technologies and coordinate associated project activities.
Provide support to operations, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met.
Ensure work is completed in a compliant manner with regard to both execution and documentation.
Provide detailed project specifications, drawings, procedures, tender documents and where applicable comply with site GMP procedures.
Manage and develop staff in the development function through involvement, delegation, and regular reviews of performance as established in IIGs.
Design in health, safety and environmental best practice and ensure that all work is completed in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
Provide detailed justifications for development projects and subsequently provide management to these projects in terms of leadership, time, costs and reporting.
Participate in the site Continuous Improvement Programme
Other work as requested by the Engineering Manager


Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
At least 10 years process engineering experience with people management.
Strong data analysis skills - Minimum Green Belt, preferably Black Belt, qualified Six Sigma.
Experience in leading new product introduction in a regulated industry.
Ground up development of processes and high speed automation.
