Our client a global supplier of tooling solutions is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their operations in Shannon, Co. Clare. Reporting to and liaising with the Quality Manager, the candidate will own the Company Quality Management System and provide ongoing support to the manufacturing team in an effort to maximize production quality performance, in relation to the identification of root causes, implementing corrective and preventive action on all quality issues in production. They will be also required to assess Medical device related issues identified in the manufacturing processes and validation of new processes/products.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, updating and maintaining existing quality management processes and procedures
  • Ensuring quality standards are ahead to, and all production processes are carried out according to procedures
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate quality records, data analysis and documentation
  • Raise quality profile and operation standards within the business
  • Meet quality KPI’s on a timely basis
  • Investigating, communicating and ensuring resolution of quality related issues
  • Ensuring customers receive highest level of service, in a timley manner
  • Strengthen customer relationships, through highest product quality standards
  • Where necessary, escalate quality issues to management
  • Ensuring all staff are fully aware and trained in the relevant in test equipment, quality systems, policies and procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and support to quality inspectors, management and production staff.
  • Ensuring quality inspection instruments are accurate and regularly calibrated, tested and audited.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to quality inspectors, management and production staff
  • Ensuring new product introductions and change controls are effectively managed in accordance with ISO requirements when appropriate
  • Gather and provide technical data for technical reviews.
  • Participating in routine failure investigation and product trouble shooting.


Skills/Experience:


  • Minimum 5 yers experience as a Senior Quality Engineer within a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of implementing and maintaining quality systems, policies and procedures to ISO 13485 standards
  • Proficient in industry standard problem solving Tools such as Guage R&R.
  • Experience within Metrology – Required
  • Experience within the Medical Device sector – Desirable
  • Working knowledge of regulatory requirements including ISO 9001, ISO 13485:2003 and AS9100 Rev C.
  • Process and understanding of quality tools such as SPC / Process Control, Guage R&R, FMEA, Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis and other Six Sigma tools.
  • Proven people and project management skills.
  • Have strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of PC skills
  • Good attention to detail, resulting in high levels of accuracy in all aspects of the position.
