Client and project:

Our client is a multinational biopharma company who have an exciting daily-rate 6 month contract vacancy in their Combination Drug/Device team.

A competitive daily rate is on offer.

Reporting to the Electrical Mechanical Systems Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for preforming design and analysis to support research and development of drug/gas delivery and monitoring devices. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will drive design activities, reviews and report on design’s progress. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity and excellent problem solving skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent analysis skills, mechanical engineering experience and a good understanding of medical devices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years related engineering experience
• 3+ years in medical device design.
• Experience in development of complex devices from concept through design verification.
• Hands-on experience constructing mechanical prototypes utilizing rapid-prototyping methods and equipment
• High degree of comfort with ambiguity in early-phase investigative projects
• Experienced with Solid works or similar CAD package
• Fundamental understanding of electrical principals
• Experience with pneumatic systems
• Knowledge of thermo plastic materials and specifications
• Outgoing personality with a strong desire to provide mentorship within the organization
• Is a self-starter, can manage multiple tasks, and work with minimal supervision
• Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet)
• Familiarity with essential requirements of the Medical Devices Directive (MDD) and associated FDA requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in project management.


• Experience with Medical Device Directive (MDD), ISO 13485, FDA design controls or similar regulatory environment.
• Extensive experience with Solidworks.
• Experience with sensor technology.
• Electro Mechanical System medical device design (end to end) experience
