Westmeath with 70% international travel

A Transport & Logistics Manager is required to join an international manufacturing business that is a leader in it’s field. Reporting into the Supply Chain Director you will assist in the delivery of Supply Chain & Procurement objectives with a particular focus on developing the international network and deliveries in the Transport, Warehouse & Logistics spheres.

Based in the Head Office in Westmeath this will be a very mobile role requiring frequent travel to manufacturing sites, distribution centres and supplier locations across Europe.

Responsibilities include

  • Third Party Logistics Service Providers (3pls) Cold stores, Warehouses and Hauliers. Tenders, renegotiations, project and event support at group and site level.

  • Material Handling Equipment contractors (MHE). Live maintenance of MHE asset register. Processing authorised MHE requests through the requisition process to contract stage. Resolution of service contract events.
  • Capex projects (sourcing of new and used equipment). Capex processing from site request to cost benefit analysis through to payment and commissioning.
  • Returnable’s (external and internal assets). Analysis and management of returnable’s externally/ internally; site and supplier score carding.
  • Heads of Agreement and Service level Agreement roll out for all 3pls. Annual due diligence audit and supplier score carding. Quarterly service reviews for larger 3pls.
  • Logistics spend analysis. Addressing exceptions to standard costs by working with each site to rectify.
  • Logistics projects. Involvement in Logistics projects within wider Group as required.
  • General daily administration duties.

The ideal Candidate

  • 3+ year’s relevant experience - Operations, Planning, Finance experience in fast moving product industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous with strong business acumen and consumer focus.
  • Demonstrate initiative, adaptability and problem-solving skills in a changing and dynamic environment.
  • Proven leadership skills including experience managing teams and supply chain process and systems expertise.
  • Proven success setting direction for process and/or tool improvements to support team objectives.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to all levels of the organization.

  • Full clean drivers licence and own transport
