The Engineering Sector in Ireland is buoyant as it is closely linked to the pharmaceutical, medical device and technology sectors which are cornerstones of our economy. Within the pharmaceutical industry engineers play a key part in the construction and validation of facilities, the development and optimisation of internal manufacturing processes as well as the actual manufacturing process and its environment (e.g Validation Engineer, Process Development Engineer, Process Engineer, Facilities Engineer, Automation Engineer). Similarily within the medical device sector, engineers play a critical role too, with the added speciality of quality engineering, where finished materials are tested against accepted quality specifications.

Within the technology sector engineers play a critical role in the design and development of both hardware and software.
