An Optimisation Leader required to join a leading global pharmaceutical business based in Cork. This is an opportunity to join a vibrant multi-cultural and multi-lingual team where you will play your part in making a difference for people the world over by supporting the business as it discovers, develops, and delivers medicines that help people live longer, healthier and more active lives. This role will lead the optimisation strategy and development of energy and excitement around the organisation for optimisation and the evolution of appropriate frameworks and tools to harness that energy to generate ideas to deliver tangible and measurable value. This role will closely partner with the automation and Analytics leaders within the broader Optimisation and Automations solution team to leverage and align those with those capabilities to deliver measurable improvements. The role will also build strong networks with key business partners to ensure alignment with functional strategic objectives in the optimisation area.
The Role
- Develop and evolve global optimization frameworks and tools with practical global and local implementation strategies.
- Work with multiple stakeholders and functional leadership to understand and influence strategic objectives in the areas of optimization and partner with the functional team representatives to identify and deliver upon specific improvement opportunities
- Build a data driven opportunity identification process to ensure we maximize the value of the optimization, automation and analytics tools at our disposal
- Establish, lead and chair a cross functional team of process innovation champions across geographies to underpin the overall optimization culture and manage ideas and opportunities through prioritization to completion and validation
- Lead specific strategic optimization projects across all phases of a comprehensive process redesign, such as data gathering, baselining, root cause analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis, data modelling, future state design, implementation and validation of results
- Influence decision making ensuring key success criteria on optimizations have been reviewed and aligned on.
The Person
- Bachelors/Master’s degree with overall 10+ years of process optimisation experience.
- Proven leadership and organisational change management experience and influence at senior leadership levels within a multi-national organisation
- Certification in process optimisation methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, BPM.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and influencing skills; ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands. Ability to build effective networks across functions, organisations, job levels and geographies.
- Self-motivated professional with excellent customer service and strong working/team building relationship skills.
- Experience in delivering successful optimisation initiatives
