Automation Front Line Support Engineer

Automation Engineer:
Our consultancy client are hiring an automation engineer for an aseptic drug product facility in Dublin with a strong culture of continuous improvement and innovation. They are looking for an experienced Automation Front Line Support (FLS) Engineer to join our team. The position offers excellent rates and the opportunity for a long-term placement. Due to the nature of the role it is a shift rota but comes with a shift allowance on top of the agreed salary.

Shift Pattern:
It's 12 hr shifts over a 3 week cycle. The shift operates 7am to 7pm for days and 7pm to 7am for nights. No weekends.
Week 1 - Mon/Tues/Wed ( 3 Nights)
Week 2 - Wed/Thurs/Fri ( 3 Days)
Week 3 - Mon/Tue (2 Days) Thurs/Fri ( 2 Nights)


Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to procedures on site in relation to all aspects of the position.
  • Provide real-time front line support to the production group on their manufacturing/IS systems.
  • Document and track resolution of issues and tasks.
  • Aide the identification and implementation of system improvements and corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to aide the coaching of operators and maintenance technicians in the effective use of the control systems.
  • Manage and execute change controls for continuous improvement projects.
  • Execute and document preventative maintenance tasks performed on the automation systems.
  • Excellent control systems automation background and proven ability to support several automated control systems, preferably with Packaging OEM equipment
  • Independent, self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task in demanding environments and a team player, prepared to work in and embrace a culture that relies on collaboration for effective decision-making.


Experience:
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience supporting the automation aspects of Packaging Equipment in the Life Sciences/Pharma sector
  • Strong network architecture or engineering proficiencies including TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, Network IDS/IPS.
  • Third level qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Equivalent.
  • Experience in Siemens PLC/ HMI, Elau, Systech and Packaging Equipment including knowledge of OSIsoft PI Data Historian, Allen Bradley, Wonderware InTouch, iFix.
  • Knowledge of GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 industry standards and 21 CFR Part 11.
