Our client is an Irish Healthcare organisation who has a strong Eyecare & healthcare range of products. They are currently seeking an experienced Export Busines developer to join their sales team. The Business Development Manager-Exportwill be responsible for establishing partnerships for our client and its unique portfolio on a global basis. This role is to act as a partner between our client and both existing and potential partners and as such may negotiate/interact with a variety of people so should have excellent interpersonal skills and negotiating experience. A driven individual with the ability to use their own initiative, work autonomously, creatively and with the ability to garner the right information themselves on a given project or territory. The overall goal is to expand the companies global impact for our current and pipeline of brands.

Reporting to the CEO and as a new role in the Company, the Business Development Manager Export is tasked with the design and implementation of all export strategies and activities. They will ensure adherence to all project requirements and prepare all export documents (contracts, business plans) and regulatory requirements with prospective customers. A good knowledge of the healthcare market and regulations will be required in order to identify any prospective markets and assist to identify appropriate business opportunities.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of new business and sales opportunities in various territories as well as presentation of same to CEO
  • Work through criteria for selecting partners in target markets
  • Ability to investigate thoroughly as to who are the right partners for our client long term
  • Design efficient distributing strategies for customers and ensure compliance to all country specific regulations of that market.
  • In regard to export of goods, ensure compliance to all organisational policies and procedures and monitor all financial and currency processes and transactions and manage all communication with export authorities for all required countries.
  • Coordinate with management and different departments (Marketing, L&D, NPD, R&D, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Regulatory)
  • Ability to work closely and as part of a team with all of those mentioned departments
  • Plan participation in new market international trade shows
  • Maintenance of customer relations and participation in the organisation's international sales activities where appropriate
  • Build a breath of relationships within partner organisations
  • Monitor all export sales transactions and liaise with relevant departments to ensure smooth transactions and shipment
  • Ability to work towards a sales target for each financial year
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure smooth functioning of processes and forecast all requirements.
  • Commercial awareness/business acumen of the vision care market, pharmaceutical and/or medical devices industry; knowledge and understanding of products, services and marketplace
  • Proven commercial acumen, with clear insight and understanding of the business market dynamics and the ability to accurately assess and convey this intelligence to prospective clients
  • Work with partners and potential partners on alignment with our clients brands and brand plans and product positioning.
  • Support partners for technical training for the products
  • Work closely with partners to make them aware of new materials, studies, promotions so that they have the most up to date information to grow the brands in their market

Education/Experience:

  • Degree in Marketing, (International) Business, Finance or any other related field
  • At best, practical experience in a similar position
  • Good understanding of sales and marketing strategies
  • Knowledge of consultation with clients regarding insurances, duties and taxes
  • Well-developed communication skills and a customer orientation
  • Knowledge about budget management, international trade and taxations
  • Ability to easily comprehend and facilitate shipment processes
  • Sound background and experience in life sciences or business required with experience of dealing with distributers
