Facilities Maintenance Technician


This job description covers electrical, mechanical and automation aspects of the Facilities Maintenance Technician’s job and will require Facilities Maintenance Technicians to undertake any task which is within their competence.


Responsibilities:

  • Operation, preventative/corrective maintenance and continuous improvement of all types of mechanical and electrical facilities and utility equipment/plant, to achieve maximum availability and equipment reliability, in a regulated Medical Device facility.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out in compliance to relevant SOP's and GxP requirements.
  • Update and maintain all maintenance records in an organised and efficient manner.
  • Provision of technical support and troubleshooting on automated controls, electrical equipment, building services and general facilities engineering.
  • To assist in the complete commissioning and validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials, setup, debugging etc
  • Participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies.
  • Participate in Task Based Risk Assessments on building maintenance tasks.
  • Work with the site EHS personnel to implement and maintain good safe working practices, by complying with site safety procedures and policies.
  • Work in compliance with the site Safe Systems of Work including permitting, LOTO, isolations and safety documentation review.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.



Required Experience
  • 5+ years’ work experience, post trade qualification, in a similar role/regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with Trend or any other Building Management System.
  • Experience with SAP based Computerised Maintenance Management System and electronic Maintenance Request Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational ability.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles of plant equipment – chillers/ boilers/ pumps/ HVAC/ Compressors/ Solvent Abatement.
Any applicant must be eligible to work in Ireland. Existing work permit or EU passport required.
