Facilities Maintenance Technician

NHL/AXRV-817273

The successful candidate will be someone who is able to provide innovative and timely repair and maintenance on building interior, exterior and facilities equipment while working under his or her own initiative. Applicants must be able to work in a highly dynamic environment where responsibility and challenges change. The role is varied in terms of duties and requires someone who is multi-skilled.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Troubleshooting and fault finding of facilities equipment.
  • Carry out planned/unplanned maintenance on facilities equipment including minor repairs and maintenance to buildings involving wall repairs, carpentry, plumbing, painting, furniture assembly and relocation, lighting repairs, minor electrical repair/install, concrete/asphalt repair, facility condition and safety inspections, security and safety alarm management.
  • Execution of work orders generated by the computerised maintenance management system.
  • Support key facilities, safety and energy projects at both local and global levels
  • Ensure that all equipment is repaired to the highest standards.
  • Responsible for filling out plant downtime report for all instances of plant downtime. Report to include time down, corrective action and preventative action going forward.
  • Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements, training and regulations.
  • Meeting and controlling onsite contractors
  • Follow up on safety issues, fire and security alarms.
  • Provide cover for production maintenance technicians when required.
  • Perform additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
Key Requirements:
  • Completion of a trade apprenticeship program required (preferably electrical or plumbing)
  • Competency in working with electrical panels/equipment
  • 5 years’ experience in a facilities maintenance role.
  • Experience with Water Treatment and BEMS advantageous
  • Effective in analysis and elimination of recurring equipment problems.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Any applicant must have an existing work permit/ visa for Ireland (Stamp 4 or EU passport) and open to working onsite 5 days per week in Galway.
