Field Service Engineer (Pharma/Biotech)

Our client is a leading supplier of Clean room monitoring, water purification and a range of Instrumentation to the Pharma/Biotech industries across Ireland. They are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join an established team. The successful person shall take responsibility for performing service functions as requested by the Managing Director and Service Manager andperform all duties as requested by the management in a diligent and timely manner and strive to achieve excellence in the course of all work carried out.

Role/Responsibilities:

To execute the service strategy as set out by Management, including performance of all service-related functions as detailed below.

  • Perform routine and non-routine service functions.
  • Undertake training as and when required, both in-house and overseas supplier training.
  • Perform instrument calibrations, validations and qualifications per approved methods.
  • Perform instrument and equipment preventative maintenance per approved methods
  • Perform instrument and equipment repairs when required.
  • Above functions to be performed both in the workshop and on customer sites.
  • Report metrics to Managing Director as and when required.
  • To maintain service records in an appropriate and orderly manner.
  • Explore service opportunities and report such opportunities to the Managing Director for evaluation.
  • To assist in the general company operation where necessary.
  • To ensure that adequate resources are in place to fulfil your objectives.
  • To continuously seek to find means to reduce or minimise the costs of service.
  • To work in such a manner that always puts safety first.
  • Where necessary to work within the confines of the ISO Quality system and to maintain your knowledge of that system.
  • Make known to the Managing Director any additional training requirements that you consider necessary for the full and proper fulfilment of your duties.
  • To perform all functions above as per the approved methods and SOP’s which are approved for use from time to time.
  • To ensure that the correct and valid procedures are being used by reference to the approved list of documentation.
  • Maintain your knowledge re all procedures etc. and ensure that at all times you are fully up to date with all procedures.
Education/Experience:
  • Higher level degree in Engineering or similar Technical qualification
  • Pharma/Biotech experience a distinct advantage
  • Full, clean Irish drivers licence
  • 1-3 years previous Field service engineer experience (could consider a technical person in Industry seeking a move into Service engineering).
  • Ability to travel 70-80% across Ireland installing & servicing equipment and other 20% of time in office in Bray.
