Our client a fast-paced well-funded medical device start-up seeks an innovative Innovation Grant Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will be an active member of the team delivering ground-breaking innovation grant projects for the development and commercialisation of their device. This role will be a vital contributor to the organisation, risk identification and mitigation, reporting and delivery of existing and new innovation projects. The role will NOTAG the full innovation project product lifecycle from concept ideation to regulatory approval and treatment of patients worldwide.



Role/Responsibilities

  • Facilitation and communication aspects of the company’s project activities
  • Organise and coordinate existing and new medical device innovation grant projects in line with specific grant project agreements.
  • Arrange, measure, and communicate all project performance activities to all stakeholders.
  • Proactive engagement with the engineering and senior management team.
  • Implement planning structures, tools, and technologies, as required to implement the delivery of innovation project plans.
  • Management of project delivery, budgeting, resourcing, scope adherence, risks, and reporting.
  • Enable widespread understanding of individual team member project expectations and accountability.
  • Facilitate project meetings including kick-offs, scheduling, updates and retrospective reviews.
  • Track areas for improvement and implement project performance enhancements.
  • Resolve project conflicts and escalations as necessary.
  • Adhere to best practices-based project management for medical devices e.g. PMP.
  • Work with grant syndicate partners to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of dependencies.
  • Management of publicly funded innovation project deliveries, data and stakeholder management, and reporting requirements to maximise grant disbursements.
  • Support ancillary administration requirements across the business e.g. assisting booking of travel, procurement of office supplies, purchase order management.


Skills/Experience
  • Third-level qualification in project/innovation management or a related field.
  • Innovation grant project management experience in a regulated medical device development environment working with internal and external teams and stakeholders.
  • Formal project management training skills (e.g. PMP certification).
  • Ability and willingness to inspire, lead and effectively work as part of a small team.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Results-orientated and quality-focused.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Project, online collaboration tools and Office applications.
  • Proven ability to self-manage, solve complex problems and work effectively with other team members.
  • Experience in Product Lifecycle implementation and strong process understanding are required.
  • Experience in effectively managing European publicly funded innovation projects is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up environment, and/or willingness to adapt to a small company environment.
  • Desire to learn new skills and achieve personal development in medical device industry fields.
  • Values honesty and transparency to identify and resolve issues.
