Quality, Safety & Risk Manager
Our Dublin based client are currently recruiting for a Quality, Safety & Risk (QSR) Manager who will support the design, implementation, monitoring and review of the Quality, Safety & Risk (QSR) framework. The framework will underpin the development of a robust standardised, accredited patient safety model which underpins the delivery of efficient, effective safe services and an excellent patient experience within a financially sustainable delivery model. The role holder will play a key role in designing and implementing efficient and effective integrated pathways and for developing the associated training and mentorship programs that will underpin ongoing quality improvement and the sustainability of the pathways.
Responsibilities
- Implement Health and Wellbeing’s agreed QSR Framework
- Ensure the agreed Framework supports continuous improvement and the delivery of high standards of care & engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver this
- Provide education and support in developing, implementing and maintaining quality improvement activities
- Lead the development and delivery of quality scorecards/dashboards by working with frontline clinical staff to develop appropriate quality metrics and indicators to promote continuous improvement in the quality of patient care
- In collaboration with other members of the QSR team, support the development of a programme for quality improvement, including quality priorities and metrics
- Ensure timely delivery and monitoring for effectiveness, and impact on standards of patient and service user care and treatment.
- Ensure quality improvement techniques and clinical governance techniques and tools are embedded throughout
- Design, implement and direct quality programs in order to meet the organisational goals
- Work closely with frontline staff to determine patient care needs with a goal toward delivering high quality, individualised patient care in a safe and compliant manner
- Facilitate departmental activities so as to meet the requirements of customers and regulatory and accrediting agencies
- Maintain a repository of organisational learning from safety incident and risk management and disseminate learning to enable mitigation of future risk
- Establish appropriate structures and processes in relation to risk reporting and incident management
- Determine the strategy for changing processes to optimise patients’ needs
- Collaborate with various stakeholders on projects and initiatives in pursuit of best practice outcomes
- Contribute to the management of the accreditation and regulation activities to include communicating the programs/processes to staff, preparing for inspections, and completing assessments and response plans
- 3rd level healthcare qualification. MSc is desirable, but not essential
- 5 plus years in a healthcare management role, of which at least 3 must be quality related
- Proven experience designing and commissioning quality assurance services
- Proven experience of managing all aspects of quality, safety and risk across a complex healthcare system
- Experience of applying JCI standards and working through the accrediting process
- Proven experience of implementation of a Quality Improvement methodology and delivery to the front-line clinical teams
- Demonstrable experience in delivering and using lean methodology in a clinical setting desirable
