We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with an award winning Medical Device organization based in Cork. This is an excellent position for anyone who is looking to join a leading multinational who are one of the best at what they do.

Duties

• To manage innovation projects, including stakeholder management
• To participate in roadmapping and innovation strategy sessions
• To have an active technical involvement in the innovation projects
• To liaise with the different teams to understand business opportunities
• To put in place the appropriate legal agreements
• Open to travel to support development.
• To manage research budgets
• To support funding applications for different areas of sensing, materials and manufacturing technologies that enable Industrie 4.0
• To provide guidance to other staff and students in own specialist area, including supervising and assessing postgraduate projects
• To take part in knowledge-transfer activities, including collaborative meetings with other research groups
• To maintain knowledge and understanding within the field/specialism, transforming and applying knowledge acquired from scholarship to research
• Identify appropriate resources and technical requirements for the Manufacturing Technologies and Innovation Centre of Excellence Research and Innovation projects
• Work with all relevant project teams to deliver project on time and on budget with the required quality level.

Education & Experience
Essential
• BSc in an engineering discipline or equivalent
• 2 years experience working in industry
• 1 year experience in a regulated industrial environment
• High level of technical English
• Proven academic track record
• Experience in integration of new technologies into Manufacturing Operations

Desireable
• 1 year experience in a research environment
• PhD or MSc in an engineering related discipline
• Experience setting up legal agreements
• Experience in managing European funded projects
• Process Excellence – Six Sigma certified
