Sales Manager (Pharma Cleanroom Monitoring Solutions)

Our client is an Irish distribution organisation who are dedicated to serving the cleanroom monitoring requirements of the Irish Bio/Pharma, Life Science, Medical Device, Microelectronics and Educational sectors. They are seeking a Sales Manager who is a strong business developer with a Microbiology background & a strong network across the Pharma/Biopharma sector in Ireland. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful person shall develop the overall business, and particularly the sales revenue whilst striving to achieve excellence in the course of all work carried out.

Role/Responsibilities:

  • To plan and implement the sales strategy so as to ensure the continued success of the business and do so in such a manner as to consolidate existing business and grow the business going forward.
  • Perform sales functions as required to satisfy the above objectives.
  • To ensure that all personal sales targets are met for revenues and costs/margins.
  • Leverage existing customers to identify new sales prospects.
  • Identify, develop and maintain new customers to generate new business.
  • To work in such a manner as to maximise productivity and sales revenues.
  • Report metrics to Managing Director as and when required, on a monthly basis at a minimum.
  • To maintain sales records in an appropriate and orderly manner.
  • In consultation with the MD to participate in quarterly performance reviews.
  • Maintain your knowledge re all relevant industry guidelines & regulations and ensure that at all times you are fully up to date with same.
  • To continuously seek to find new products, services and other customer offerings so as to grow the business within the current framework.
  • Where necessary to work within the confines of the ISO Quality system and to maintain your knowledge of that system.
  • Make known to the Managing Director any additional training requirements that you consider necessary for the full and proper fulfilment of your duties.
  • Cover the sales territory of the Island of Ireland.
  • Travel overseas to our principals for meetings and training as and when required.
  • Organise and participate in trade shows and exhibitions.
Education/Experience:
  • BSc in Science, with a preference for Microbiology background.
  • The successful candidate will have a proven track record of selling to the Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical sectors and will ideally have an extensive network of contacts within this sector.
  • Experience of selling capital equipment within these sectors will be advantageous, specifically selling products associated with Pharm/Biopharma aseptic processing & cleanroom monitoring such as:
  1. Cleanroom monitoring and contamination control equipment including particle counting equipment & environmental monitoring systems.
  2. Fill/finish equipment
  3. Sterilisation equipment & consumables
  4. Laboratory equipment, instrumentation and labware
  • The successful candidate will target the Pharma, Biopharma, Life Science, Medical Device sectors; as well as other sectors such as Healthcare and Education.
  • Propose and implement Business Development activities to grow sales revenue.
  • Have sound commercial business acumen as well as the having good technical knowledge of his/her product range.
  • An excellent communicator and must be highly motivated to achieve the full growth potential of the product portfolio.
