A Sourcing Excellence Analyst is required to play a key role within a newly created Global Procurement Center of Excellence of a leading Pharmaceutical organisation based in Cork. The Sourcing Excellence Analyst works closely with Strategic Sourcing Category Owners and Procurement Data Analyst to support fact-based sourcing strategies. The Sourcing Excellence Analyst has responsibilities pertaining execution of competitive events (RFx, reverse auctions), sourcing strategies and contract compliance.

The Role

  • Support procurement activities for all spend areas in achieving the goal of significant initial cost reductions by conducting competitive events and negotiating best terms and conditions for a given purchase event.
  • Work closely with category owners in developing and implementing strategies to manage tail spend and supplier base.
  • Identify opportunities to drive spend through automated channels (e.g. Catalogs, guided buying tools).
  • Develops, deploys, and engrains best practices related to competitive events (RFx, reverse auctions) and contracting.

The Person




  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Information Technology.
  • 1-3 years of procurement or supply chain experience preferred
  • Strong data analysis skills (e.g., Excel, Access, Power BI, Spotfire)
  • Able to manage and prioritise competing requests with minimal supervision
  • Able to synthesize information from diverse sources and present findings clearly and concisely
  • Comfort with a broad range of research tools and technologies, analytics, and basic financial analyses
  • Passion for finding information on innovative industry trends
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
