An experienced Supply Chain Planner with office administration experience is required to join an innovative and growing Life Sciences company in the South East! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ + experience using and managing an ERP system, be highly IT literate, is experienced in planning and procurement of materials to meet production and end user requirements, and is comfortable coordinating logistics and shipping to ensure the continuity of the supply chain from end to end.

The Role:

  • Hands-on operation of the company’s ERP system for supply chain planning and management
  • Process purchase orders and prepare required reports for accounts. Work with Finance to ensure proper financial tracking.
  • Manage production records on computerised system – production work orders, raw materials issues to jobs, finished goods receipt, lot number tracking.
  • Forecast, plan and procure all materials required to service production schedules
  • Negotiate favourable pricing and contract terms with suppliers
  • Track purchase orders
  • Inventory reporting for all inventory categories
  • Liaise and build relationships with suppliers and all stakeholders in the supply chain
  • Review and analyse stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage.
  • Based on customer orders and production requirements, place orders for materials with our suppliers to ensure that sufficient materials are available for production and relevant departments to meet sales forecasts and orders.
  • Identify relevant raw material availability and lead times
  • Work closely with the manufacturing manager and provide weekly inventory status reports to facilitate production planning and to mitigate disruption to operations.
  • Co-ordinate between suppliers and sub-contractors
Education and Experience:
  • 3rd Level qualification in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Office administration, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years in a similar role ideally within a pharmaceutical or medical device environment.
  • APICS qualified desirable
  • Detailed hands-on / customizing knowledge and proficiency at using ERP systems
  • Experience in procurement and purchasing of materials from international suppliers
  • Proficient in use of Excel spreadsheets and strong knowledge of computer software such as MS office; etc.
  • Experience in inbound and outbound logistics and shipping coordination
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and respond timely to changing requirements, and to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
  • Detail orientated and self-motivated.
  • Good organizational, facilitation and excellent communication skills both written and oral required.
