Job description

VP of Strategic Marketing

Life Science Recruitment are currently sourcing a VP of Strategic Marketing for a MedTech Therapy Company in Galway, who are dedicated to relieving the suffering of patients. In this role you will be a strategic partner and advisor to the CEO on all marketing, strategic, competitive, commercial and market analysis matters in the business, and be a key member of the senior management team for the Group.

Roles & Responsibilities

Working closely with the CEO, develop the strategic roadmap for the business.
Develop strategic objectives for the strategic marketing function that are aligned with the business strategy and execute on approved strategic objectives.
Primary responsibility for product management strategy, communications strategy, brand management, KOL Strategy, the definition of the sales model, and commercial aspects of reimbursement and therapy strategies.
Oversee coordination between the functional leaders to ensure that key inputs to strategy are articulated and presented to the senior team.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the development of new products and assure that the products will (a) create real value for physicians and patients, (b) add substantially to the brand value of the company, (c) represent a significant financial opportunity for the business and, (d) reflect the brand values that the company aspires to.
• Responsible for the creation and upkeep of strategy driving documents for the business including the Market Model, the Product Map, the Analysis of Competition, SWOT Analyses, Market Opportunity Assessments and product development input documents.
• Overall responsibility for all upstream and global aspects of product management including:
(i) the creation and evolution of design input documents,
(ii) working with design teams to assure the products meet the marketing specification,
(iii) directing and managing the process for new product introductions
(iv) managing products in the market from a global marketing perspective,
(v) driving commercial decision making around clinical and regulatory programs in close cooperation with the function leaders and the CEO,
(vi) the creation and approval of marketing materials content including key messaging on product features and benefits and
(vii) Directing R&D testing, analysis and evaluation activities to create compelling marketing content in support of products.
• Carry leadership responsibility for the development and management of the brand of the company.
• Oversee and approve all company artwork including company logo’s, fonts, templates, brochures, labels, package design, promotional videos, company graphics and website graphics and content.
• Develop commercial insights on competitive landscape, payer/reimbursement requirements, unmet medical needs, evolving market dynamics, and macro-economic trends
• Understand and communicate global requirements for registration, reimbursement and differentiation to ensure the successful commercialization of new products.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from accredited college in a scientific, engineering or marketing discipline. Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
• At least 20 years of experience in the medical device industry with at least 10 years marketing management and leadership experience.
• At least ten years’ experience in the vascular segment of the MedTech industry.
• Marketing leadership experience within smaller companies, as well as larger companies is highly desirable.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate with team members across the functions, across the leadership levels and across the multiple territories in which the business is conducted.
• Able to handle aggressive deadlines, work cross-functionally and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Highly motivated and effective leader
• Comfortable with a rapidly evolving business and willing to perform duties outside of scope to meet business objective.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative marketing research methodologies.
• Ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a manner that inspires and motivates teams and focuses energy on achieving business goals.
