On a Wing and a Prayer.

This unique Tennessee duckling, Buttercup, was born with one foot in the grave. His backward foot meant he had trouble walking, swimming and he was constantly in pain. He was adopted by Feathered Angels in Arlington Tennesse who noted that he risked falling fowl of serious infection due to the constant cuts on his troubled foot. Mike Garey, Buttercup’s carer decided that something had to be done or Buttercup could become duck soup. He decided on a very high tech solution indeed. Mike contacted Novacopy – a 3D printing solutions firm who agreed to foot the bill.

The result was a 3D printed silicone ‘shoe’ which slipped onto Buttercup’s foot. The mold was actually taken from a 3D modelling of his own sister Minnies’s foot. The finished product is due top arrive with Buttercup in the coming weeks. Meanwhile his ever-increasing fan base have been flocking to see this lucky duck.
