Operations Excellence Lead
Our client, a global biologics organisation are currently recruiting for an Operations Excellence Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. As Operations Excellence Lead you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a lean culture on site.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the OPEX Site Strategy and associated Scorecard tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, ensuring timely collation of data gathering for routine reporting at site and above site
  • Develop and deliver key training modules to support Operational Excellence mindset and drive for continuous improvement
  • Develop and Manage portfolio of cross functional OPEX Projects, apply implementation criteria to ensure alignment with site strategy for delivery of cost saving and yield improvement initiative
  • Manage stage-gate reporting of OPEX Projects as appropriate
  • Drive improvements within the business working with key stakeholders within the business to support achieving our departments Vision
  • Lead OPEX improvement activities across the site with a key focus on cycle time reduction and waste elimination
  • Serve as a change agent and key site influencer
  • Provide OPEX support to departments across the site as required
  • Demonstrate the appropriate use of Lean techniques during OPEX projects
  • Influence, Coach/Train employees in Lean Techniques and Principles in order to develop an organization wide culture of change.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with GMP requirements, SOPs and controlled documents
  • Will act as a role model for the Operations function and also the wider organisation
Requirements
  • BSc/MSc in a scientific or engineering discipline (Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing) or equivalent is preferred
  • Black-Belt level lean and six sigma qualification is required
  • Masters in Lean highly desirable
  • Experience within Bio-pharma/pharma industry, drug substance manufacturing would be an advantage
  • Experience across both upstream and downstream manufacturing activities is desired
  • A strong level of experience in delivering successfully Lean Six Sigma project execution is required
  • Leading cross-functional teams is a requirement
  • Greenfield or large site expansion experience is beneficial
  • Demonstrated experience in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) projects
  • A team player with a passion for continuous improvement (CI)
  • Experience delivering OpEx training
  • Experience/training in CI approaches obtained in organisations with strong CI culture
  • Demonstrated success in leadership, effective communication, problem solving, and team work are critical for this position
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skill, detail-oriented organizational skill, clear understanding of process control strategy and data management are also required for this position
  • Good decision making with strong judgment through collaboration and consideration of others point-of-view
  • Self-motivated, flexible and creative leader, able to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced & demanding environment
  • The ability to influence and coach others (at all levels) are critical competencies.
  • Excellent business analysis and problem-solving skills with broad business knowledge essential
