A Senior Operations Manager is required to join a leading global healthcare business based in Clonmel. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the effective management of the Operations function at the site.


The Role

  • Manage an organization of >25 operations management professionals and >600 production operators
  • Act as a key contributor to the site and divisional sales and operations planning (S&OP) process and ensure a robust capacity model is in place to align supply and demand requirements.
  • Promote, support and drive Continuous Improvement in all aspects of the Business through a structured format such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Recruit, coach and foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organisational objectives.
  • Develop and calculates a budget for the department to meet organisational goals; forecasts future departmental needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures; recommends or modifies the structure of organisational units or a centralised functional activity subject to senior management approval.
The Person
  • Minimum 3rd Level Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent. is preferred.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in a similar field.
  • Experience of Operational Excellence (Shingo, etc.) advantageous.
  • Previous experience managing large manufacturing department in high volume medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, or equivalent industries.
  • Previous experience with budgetary planning and control.
