Senior Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain An innovative and rapidly growing medical device company is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain to lead and scale global manufacturing, supply chain and operational capabilities as the organisation continues its commercial growth journey.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership role will have overall responsibility for manufacturing operations, supply chain strategy, vendor management, logistics and operational excellence across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing scalable manufacturing capabilities, driving supply chain resilience and supporting the commercialisation of innovative medical technologies.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all manufacturing and supply chain operations, including production planning, process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with long-term business objectives.
  • Oversee demand forecasting, inventory planning, procurement and logistics to ensure uninterrupted product supply.
  • Manage strategic relationships with external manufacturing partners and suppliers, including negotiation and management of technical, quality and supply agreements.
  • Support technology transfer and the establishment of process engineering capabilities to enable successful scale-up and commercial manufacturing.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction and margin optimisation initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Lead ERP implementation and develop operational KPIs, reporting systems and performance metrics.
  • Establish supply chain resilience and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Finance and Executive Leadership teams to support business growth and product commercialisation.
  • Manage manufacturing budgets, standard costing and operational financial controls.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline required.
  • Advanced qualification such as MBA, PhD or PMP certification desirable.
  • 15+ years’ senior leadership experience within the medical device industry.
  • Proven expertise in manufacturing operations, process engineering, supply chain management, procurement and vendor management.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and integrated operational planning.
  • Experience establishing and scaling medical device manufacturing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional programmes in a regulated environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, contracts and operational performance.
