Operational Excellence Lead – Dublin (On-site)
Position: Operational Excellence Lead
Location: Dublin, Ireland

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Are you a seasoned Lean Six Sigma professional looking to drive transformational change within a global pharmaceutical manufacturing environment? This is a pivotal opportunity to join a US-based multinational with a market capitalisation of $20 billion, serving as a key member of the Site Senior Leadership Team. You will be instrumental in embedding a culture of continuous improvement across a high-performing site in Dublin.

Role Overview

As the Operational Excellence Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic execution of the site’s continuous improvement roadmap. You will act as a primary change agent, bridging the gap between senior leadership strategy and shop-floor execution. Your focus will be on enhancing quality, efficiency, and compliance through the rigorous application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, ensuring that process improvements are sustainable and measurable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the site’s Operational Excellence strategy, reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, promoting CI principles across all departments.
- Manage high-impact projects using DMAIC and Lean methodologies to resolve complex operational challenges.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping sessions to identify and eliminate waste.
- Coach and mentor Green Belts while leading Yellow Belt training programmes to build internal capability.
- Embed daily OE principles, including tiered management systems, 6S, and regular Gemba walks.
- Develop and maintain visual management systems, process maps, and SOPs to standardise improvements.
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to demonstrate the tangible impact of CI initiatives.

Requirements
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related technical discipline.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification is mandatory.
- 7 to 10 years of dedicated experience in Operational Excellence or Continuous Improvement roles.
- Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements.
- Proven expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Exceptional facilitation skills with the ability to engage both shop-floor operators and executive stakeholders.

Desirable:
- Previous experience within drug product manufacturing or medical device assembly.
- Recognised project management qualification (e.g., PMP or Prince2).
What this Opportunity Offers
This role provides a platform to influence the trajectory of a major manufacturing site. You will benefit from a comprehensive package including a performance-related bonus, private health insurance, and a robust pension scheme. The company is committed to professional growth, offering clear career progression pathways and a culture that values work-life balance and corporate responsibility.
