Senior Project Engineer
We’re currently recruiting for an excellent contract opportunity with a leading pharmaceutical organisation based in Cork. This position would suit an experienced Project Engineer or Engineering Project Delivery professional with strong experience working in an API manufacturing environment.
The role will support the successful delivery of new engineering projects on site, working closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Quality, MSAT and Commissioning/Qualification teams.
Duties
• Lead and support the delivery of engineering projects on time, on budget and in line with business objectives.
• Scope new engineering projects and support capital approval activities.
• Lead, support and participate in commissioning and qualification activities.
• Coordinate project interfaces with internal departments, external vendors, suppliers and service providers.
• Manage project documentation, including engineering documentation and P&IDs.
• Support project cost management, including estimating, forecasting, tracking and reporting.
• Develop, track and report project schedules.
• Support project progress reporting and risk management activities.
• Participate in constructability, maintainability and operability reviews.
• Troubleshoot process or equipment issues as required.
• Review current condition of systems, including structural, E&I, safety, permitting and documentation.
• Investigate and resolve engineering deviations.
• Provide process and equipment-related training where required.
• Complete assigned tasks in accordance with cGMP, GDP and EHS requirements.
• Support retrospective project reviews, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
• Third level qualification in Engineering or Science.
• 3+ years’ experience working in an API pharmaceutical environment.
• Experience delivering engineering projects within a GMP regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Experience supporting commissioning and qualification activities.
• Strong documentation, stakeholder management and project coordination skills.
Desirable
• Project Management qualification.
• Six Sigma or similar problem-solving methodology.
