Are you a dedicated microbiology professional looking to step into a leadership role within a high-calibre testing environment? This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analyst to take the next step in their career, overseeing quality standards and technical excellence in a specialist laboratory based in Drogheda.

Role Overview
As a Microbiology Quality Supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our clients testing services. You will oversee the daily quality operations, ensuring that all laboratory activities align with ISO 17025 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage internal and external audit processes, acting as a primary point of contact for INAB audits.
  • Maintain the ISO 17025 quality management system, ensuring all SOPs and GOPs are current and compliant.
  • Oversee equipment calibration schedules and maintain meticulous records to ensure operational readiness.
  • Manage Proficiency Testing (PT) schemes, including the ordering, scheduling, and trending of results.
  • Investigate non-conforming MQC, AQC, and IQC results, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage reference strains and validation cleaning procedures within the laboratory environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality training to team members to maintain high standards of analysis.
  • Assist in the development and validation of new microbiological methods.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working within an ISO 17025 accredited microbiology laboratory.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Proven technical competency in microbiological analysis within a regulated laboratory.
  • Strong understanding of quality control frameworks (MQC/AQC/IQC) and PT scheme management.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both team members and customers.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
